Guided Cultural Activities
Guided cultural activities are unique opportunities for students to take what they’ve learned in class out into the real world through activities that have been specifically designed to give students a glimpse into “real” life in Cabarete. Students will not only practice what they’ve learned, they’ll also immerse themselves in different aspects of Dominican culture and learn more about what makes the Dominican Republic and its people so special. These guided cultural activities offer an experience that travellers can’t get on their own—our expertise in Dominican culture and history allows students to dig deeper and truly see the country in a nuanced way.
These activities have the added benefit of showing students useful and easy-to-follow best practices for travelling in the most ethical way possible. All activities were created with ethical consumerism in mind, so all businesses that we will visit together are locally owned and run.
The excursions can be adapted for travellers who already know how to speak Spanish or who simply want to forego Spanish practice/lessons and go straight to enjoying what the Dominican Republic has to offer.
